CAIRN was formed in 1995 by four European publishing houses (Belin, De Boeck, La D�couverte and Er�s) and offers access to the most comprehensive collection of French language periodicals in the social sciences and humanities disciplines. The collection is currently comprised of over 230 titles from more than 40 publishers, teaching institutions and learned societies and is growing rapidly. Journals range in date from 2001 to the present, gathering more than 40,000 articles. The primary subject areas are history, psychology, economics, political science and sociology.
