Google Scholar For a seamless experience, on the Library Homepage Login to OpenAthens. On the Google Scholar page, Sign In if you have a GMail account. After you sign in:
If you do not have a GMail account, just go to the Google Scholar menu, select "Settings" and follow through as above. In your search results, click on UBC eLink to access licensed resources. Google Scholar is the world's largest "free" academic search engine. Google Scholar sorts results by presenting "most relevant" citations first by using its PageRank algorithm (a measure of article popularity/value). The cited-by feature leads to other scholarly articles. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites. Google Scholar helps you find relevant work across the world of scholarly research. From the results, you can click on UBC eLink to see if the UBC Library has access to subscribed resources. From off campus, you will be asked to authenticate if the resource itself is not freely available. NOTE: The Library's discovery service, Summon, indexes some exclusive resources not findable in Google Scholar. Summon (Advanced of Basic) is available HERE.
