Connect to Resource

Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans, 1639-1800 is an important resource for researching  17th- and 18th-century America. It provides full-text and full-page-image access to almost every book, pamphlet and broadside printed in America from 1639-1800. Based on Charles Evans' foundational American Bibliography and on subsequent work by Roger Bristol, James Mooney and Clifford Shipton, the collection includes more than 36,000 works totalling 2.3 million pages.

EAI I is complemented by the Early American Imprints, Series I: Supplement from the Library Company of Philadelphia, 1670-1800.
It is continued by Early American Imprints: Series II, Shaw-Shoemaker Collection.

Series I and Series II can be searched simultaneously at American Historical Imprints.
