Canadian Encyclopedia Successor to the print editions published in 1985 and 1988, the Encyclopedia has been available online since 2001 with the current version debuting in late 2013. Since 2003 it has included 3,000 articles that originally appeared in the Encyclopedia of music in Canada. It also contains some 30,000 multimedia items ranging from images and maps to audio and visual. A project of Historica Canada (previously known as The Historica-Dominion Institute) a national charitable organization originally launched in September 2009 through the amalgamation of two existing organizations: The Historica Foundation of Canada and The Dominion Institute.
