The National Library of Medicine (U.S.)'s MEDLINEplus is a freely-searchable consumer health information site linking to simple overviews, dictionaries, directories, organizations and news for ~750 topics. It includes a medical dictionary, encyclopedia ADAM.COM, the Pharmacopeia's Drug Information Vol II, "Advice for the Patient" and pre-formatted "expert" searches in PubMed.
