UBC faculty and graduate students may also request access to a downloadable version of NOW.

The NOW corpus contains 15.7 billion words of data from web-based newspapers and magazines from 2010 to the present. The corpus grows by about 180-200 million words of data each month (from about 300,000 new articles), or about two billion words each year (description from https://english-corpora.org).

Among other features, the web interface allows for frequency searches (e.g. by year or month) and comparisons across subsets of the corpus (e.g. by period or country).

A downloadable version of NOW is also available for faculty and graduate student research from Abacus, UBC Library's data repository. The downloadable corpus contains data from 2010 to August 2022.
