As the main way for the Chinese Revolutionary Party to publicize its revolutionary ideas, the newspaper gained nationwide popularity. In 1924, after the 1st National Congress of Kuomintang (KMT), it became the official newspaper of the KMT Central Committee. It was briefly suspended in January 1932, and continued running in May of the same year after being renamed The Republican News, till the end of 1937 when it stopped publication again. On October 6th, 1945, it was revived under its original name, and came to an end again in 1947.
